A Summary of Major Barbara

The play starts out introducing a family that relies on the money that comes from their father, who left the family since the children were young. The family regularly rely on money that comes from the father and need more as two of the daughters are expecting to be married soon. There’s only one catch: the father manufactures cannons.

I'm going to be completely honest with you, my two readers; I did not understand this play. Like at all . . . [but] this production of Major Barbara proves that LCA sets a very high bar for theatre in terms of acting!

Broadway Follies Review

The Broadway Follies was a unique performance featuring the Chamber Singers and select actors from the theater program. Unlike the other concerts at LCA, excepting Artsfest in May, this show was performed with full choreography and staging to accompany the songs, and it brought the songs to life.

Singing and Playing in the Countryside

Every year for as long as I can remember, LCA has been putting on a Christmas Concert for the local church down the street, Countryside Bible Chapel. This year the weather was exceptionally awful with pouring rain and cold temperatures.

Little Women Review

November 20th, 2014

On November 14th and 15th, Middle School Theater produced Marisha Chamberlain's adaptation of Little Women. I went to see it on that Friday night, the first actual performance of the show. The set was amazing and the acting was fantastic.

Hell Rewired

A traveling tour production of the play, Screwtape Rewired, arrived at our Cross Center this fall. The play is based on C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters, in which Screwtape writes letters to his nephew Wormwood with advice on how to ensnare humans and steer them away from the path of God.

Mile 25.8 Review

The play "Mile 25.8" was based on first person accounts of the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings and incorporated select Psalms to show the struggles of life and the opportunities to overcome those hardships.

 

Oedipus Re(mi)x
